Kushikatsu is the signature dish of Shinsekai (新世界), “the new world” of Osaka.

Skewers of meat or vegetables are
lightly battered and deep-fried, bringing out the crunchiness and taste of the ingredients.

At traditional kushikatsu places, kushikatsu is served with one sauce served in one big jar, and customers are not allowed to dip twice!

 

NEW-STYLE KUSHIKATSU

Led by Chef Seiichiro Arakawa, Arakawa Japanese Restaurant at Odeon Towers (North Bridge Road) pioneers a new style of Kushikatsu.

With more than 20 years of kushikatsu experience and a stint at one Michelin-starred restaurant Abon, Chef Arakawa creates a wide variety of original sauces to complement different kushikatsu ingredients perfectly.

In addition to the traditional black sauce, Arakawa serves sauces from original sea salt, dashi, shoyu, 2 types of miso, and many more!

He will recommend the best sauce for each type of kushikatsu.
